Cap City Short Track Series 1

This is the 1st of 4 races for the Cap City Short Track Series at Chestnut Ridge.  Cap City Collective partnered with COMBO to put on a test event last summer at Chestnut Ridge MTB trails in order to appeal to a wider range of riders. It was a last minute event and was a HUGE SUCCESS! So we are back this year with a 4-race spring series. 100% of all money raised will go to COMBO and Cap City Collective to be used for projects that will improve trail experience in central Ohio. The Chestnut Ridge Short Track course will feature a 1-mile loop that incorporates fast flowing single track, power grass sections, and technical MTB features. Everyone wants short track racing to be more like "mountain biking" and this event aims to deliver. Our fundraising efforts will be used to add the features (jumps, drops, rock gardens, technical descents) for future events that everyone wants to see. This is your chance to help us make our local trails and venues more rad!

Dirt School

In Dirt School students will learn basic mountain bike skills, trail safety and etiquette.  Skills covered include body position, braking, shifting, climbing, bike/body separation, and much more.  We will cover the fundamentals of mountain biking, practice those skills in an open field and then put those skills to the test on a guided trail ride.  Functional mountain bike, helmet and closed toed shoes are required.

Your $20 fee goes straight back to COMBO to maintain and build new trails in Central Ohio. The Instructors are all volunteers. If you are unable to pay for Dirt School, COMBO can waive the fee.

COMBO Fall Trip - Rothrock, State College, PA

Our annual fall trip will held on the trails of Rothrock State Forest near State College, PA. We will also ride Laurel Highlands outside of Pittsburgh on our way to State College on Thursday. Pennsylvania offers some of the rockiest terrain you will find. While the trails are challenging they are a blast to ride and you are guaranteed to become a better rider after this trip. You won't find trails like this anywhere else. Last year everyone was all smiles after each ride. We've been going to Rothrock for nearly 10 years and we know these trails very well.

We will again be staying at the Seven Mountains Campground, which sits between Tussey Mountain and Cooper's Gap trails and is just outside of State College. They have campsites, cabins and RV sites. www.sevenmountainscampground.com

If you are interested in this trip please contact Bryan Pack at mtberohio@gmail.com
