COMBO Annual Member Meeting

It's time for our annual meeting - come make your voice heard while we enjoy Lineage's great beer! This is the time to stand up and be counted! Vote for new board members and hear how our year went.

Great Seal FUNduro

It's official! Saturday, October 20th COMBO will be hosting it's first stage race at Great Seal Park in collaboration with Rivers Bend Bike Shop. Free camping, beverages from North High Brewing, and food will be offered Saturday night! Pre-rides will be happening a few weekends in advance of the race and will be posted on facebook. The course map will be available soon. A long jump and 100 yard dash competition will be hosted by Paradise Garage Racing! The course is about 13 miles and 2,100 ft of climbing. It took a group of us a little under 3 hours to complete at an average speed.

Parking will be provided by Rivers Bend Bike shop at 1796 Lick Run rd. Chillicothe, 45601. The registration, awards, and camping will be here.

$30 per person. All proceeds go back to the trails!


Classes offered will be:

  • Men and Women Sport

  • Men and Women Open

  • 45+ 

  • Team (best two times combined from each stage) Please register individually and put your team name in the message area.

Race Day Itinerary:

  • 9-11AM sign up

  • 11:30 Riders meeting

  • Race starts at High Noon! 

  • Awards will start as soon as we can finish the results! 

Afterwards, hangout by a fire and make some new friends!

Join us for COMBOween at Gnomewood and P1 brought to you by our friends REI! We will have something for everyone.  Free kids Skills & Drllls clinic, group rides for the adults, costume contest, rocking tunes, Dirt School, free Pizza, snacks and giveaways from REI!

10:30am No drop group rides at Phase 1

11:00am - Noon Kids Skills and Drills at Gnomewood - Free Day of Registration

Noon- 2pm Free BBQ and costume contest (gnomes will have there own category) REI will provide the prizes.

2:00pm Dirt School - details and registration below

Dirt School starts at 2:00 pm.  Students will learn basic mountain bike skills, trail safety and etiquette.  Skills covered include body position, braking, shifting, climbing, bike/body separation, and much more.  We will cover the fundamentals of mountain biking, practice those skills in an open field and then put those skills to the test on a guided trail ride.  This course is for adults and kids 12 yrs and up.  Functional mountain bike, helmet and closed toed shoes are required.  Registration coming soon.

Chestnut University Gators MTB Park Kids Race and 6 Hr Race by Kenda

It's back bigger and better than ever!  Not only are we having our 6 hour race but we are partnering up with Trailer Park Racing to put on a kids race benefiting Gators Bike Park!   The 3rd annual 6 Hours at Chestnut Ridge is a fund-raising event to bring the mountain bike community together and celebrate mountain biking. Profits from this event will go to Gators Bike Park and COMBO's general trail fund which helps maintain over 50 miles of singletrack trails in Central Ohio. We can't think of anything better than getting more kids and families on the trails we build and maintain!  Details of the Kids race coming soon. The 6 hours at CR is a timed race where individuals/teams try to complete as many laps as possible within the 6+ hour time limit.

REI National Trail Day and Dirt School

Join us for National Trail Day with REI at Gnomewood and P1.  We will be working on special projects at Gnomewood and P1 starting at 9 am.  Snacks and lunch will be provided by REI. We will have afternoon group rides for all abilities.  As a fun twist, we will be riding P1 backwards for the day!

Dirt School starts at 2:00 pm at Gnomewood.  Students will learn basic mountain bike skills, trail safety and etiquette.  Skills covered include body position, braking, shifting, climbing, bike/body separation, and much more.  We will cover the fundamentals of mountain biking, practice those skills in an open field and then put those skills to the test on a guided trail ride.  This course is for adults and kids 12 yrs and up.  Functional mountain bike, helmet and closed toed shoes are required.

Chestnut Ridge Trail Day with Trek Bicycle

Trek is hosting COMBO's first trail day of the year at Chestnut Ridge March 25th from 10AM-2PM. They will be providing everyone with Food and Drinks as well as giving all attendees $20 to be spent at the local Columbus Trek locations! 

We will be working together with COMBO trail stewards to provide general trail maintenance and to get Chestnut Ridge ready to ride! This will include tasks such as: cutting back brush, clearing the trail, repairs to wet spots, etc.

Invite every mountain biker you know! Bring your friends, the more the merrier and the sooner we can ride. Trail days are always a great time.

What to bring: Gloves and appropriate clothing/footwear because you will get dirty! Bring a shovel if you have one, if not no worries we have some you can use. 

We look forward to kicking off the season with everyone!

OptOutside Group Ride at Great Seal

Two Years ago our friends at REI did something different on Black Friday—they shut the co-op’s doors and spent the day outside. This year they’re closing again and COMBO has decided to #optoutside  Skip the madness of Black Friday and enjoy the great outdoors! Meet-ups bike rides at Alum Creek P1, P2, Chestnut Ridge or Great Seal. at 10am. This will be a “meet up” style event - some rides will not have COMBO leaders. But join up with other locals, bring your friends, and go #optoutside!
