Getting Lost in the Woods, the right way!

A Community Partner We’re Grateful For

Today, we’re shining a spotlight on Lost in the Woods and the incredible role they play in supporting COMBO and the Central Ohio MTB community.

Lost in the Woods has become a cornerstone of our trail scene. Not just because of their name, but because of the role they play for our community. They consistently rally large crews for Trail Days, helping us move dirt and make meaningful progress. They host group rides that bring new riders into the fold and strengthen connections among longtime community members. Time and again, they show up ready to work, ride, and build something bigger than themselves.

Their commitment to embodying our “Building Trails & Building Community” motto isn’t just a weekend thing, it’s everyday. It’s when they host folks at the shop, or when they’re show up outside their walls and trails for the community at large for things like Pelotonia.

Don’t be fooled, the snow hasn’t stopped them. From riding or from making progress on their new building and tavern! The behind the scenes progress has been incredible, and the excitement across the MTB community is at an all time high. We are all STOKED to see this new space come to life. A future hub for post ride beers, celebrations, and many more community gatherings to come.

Building the Future at Alum Creek

As we look ahead, we’re continuing important work at Alum Creek. COMBO is rebuilding and improving a 5.7-mile section of existing trail, revitalizing an aging corridor that’s ready for a modern, sustainable upgrade.

With input from our community, this transformation will create a Multi-Purpose Flow Trail designed for both hikers and riders, built to stand the test of time. The updated trail will:

  • Reduce erosion

  • Improve drainage

  • Enhance long term walkability and ride-ability

When complete, this project will connect the network to 26 continuous miles of trail at Alum Creek, expanding access to diverse, high quality experiences just minutes from Columbus.

We’re grateful for partners like Lost in the Woods and for every volunteer, rider, and supporter who continues to make this work possible.

The trails are stronger because of you.

With much gratitude,
The COMBO Team
